Allen Kaplan, Treasurer

Allen was elected to the Austin Community College Board of Trustees in 1994, and was re-elected in 2000 and 2006. He has previously served two years as Vice Chair of the Board and two years as Secretary of the Board. He is currently the Texas State Chair for the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). Kaplan is a public affairs and marketing consultant representing both public and private clients. He has served on numerous community and professional boards including, among others, serving as chair of the Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Cap Metro) and as a founding Director of the Downtown Austin Alliance. An Austin area resident for over thirty years, Kaplan received his BA in Political Science with minors in History and Theater from the Brooklyn College, City University of New York.
